Keswick Cricket Club is located in the small town (pop. 5000) of Keswick, Cumbria, UK.
Keswick Cricket Club has four senior teams. A first, second and a third eleven which retains it's name of Threlkeld and a 4th eleven known as Blencathra (Threlkeld Res.).
The majority of players who play for Keswick Cricket Club live in or around Keswick, we do however also have a professional.
We have three junior sides. An under 11 side, an under 13 side and an under 15 side.
Our main ground is situated in Keswick in Lower Fitz Park. We also have another ground where our third and fourth teams play which is near the neighbouring village of Threlkeld.
This ground was extended in 2006.
We have a recently built pavilion (1994) (picture) and within this pavilion we now have a bar (picture) which was put in in the spring of 2000. We have three state of the art outdoor Astroturf net facilities. We have covers and sight screens and the ground is maintained by our grounds man.
No one knows quite how long Cricket has been played at Keswick but it is definitely over 100 years.
In short this is the Threlkeld KCC story. In 1997 Threlkeld and Keswick
merged on the playing side of things (not in any other way). Threlkeld were
short of players and Keswick had an abundance of young players who couldn't get
game of senior Cricket, Keswick needed a 3rd X1 and this became Threlkeld.
In 2003 again due to an abundance of players a 4X1 was launched under the name
of Blencathra which served as Threlkeld 2nd X1 and Keswick 4th X1. In 2001 a
brand new pavilion was built at Threlkeld with lottery money, 2006 saw an
extended ground.
Keswick/Threlkeld Cricket Club have a child protection policy, details of which can be found here.
